The past few projects we have been focusing on are not pointless. One day we will step into a classroom full of 25 students. Each of those students come with a unique background, personality, group of needs, and so much more. I as their teacher want to be prepared to teach them in the best way I know how. I want to be able to make my lessons interesting by making them relevant to their lives and to be able to address each of their individual needs so they can fulfill their full potential! I want to harvest success from ALL my students and encourage them to reach farther and higher than they ever believed possible. The children I will be teaching will make up the next generation. To think I can leave an influence on the next generation is such a privilege.
So as this semester continues and comes to an end, I will let this drive me. The fact that what I am doing now will prepare me to prepare my future students to be successful. Remembering that I am not just striving for myself but for my future students!
Colleen,
ReplyDeleteI feel proud of you, your positive comments let me see how a good teacher are you going to be. It is an interesting strategy by yourself to use this thoughts to don't give up with all the projects and have more focusing in finish all your duties in the best way you can.
For sure, you have interesting things to teach for your future students. Keep working and you will really do the best with them.
Colleen,
ReplyDeleteI could relate to your blog this week so well. I think as this semester comes to an end we are all swamped with projects and papers and anything else possible as a college student. Who ever said college would be easy though? Your blog this week was an awesome reminder that our mind has to be on the prize and that is what will help get us through. I have heard this a lot the past few weeks from friends and family who encourage me when I am swamped with work. We will survive!! Your blog this week portrayed the passion you have for your students and this will take you far as a teacher. This world and these kids need more people with mindsets like you have and I think you will impact a ton of kids this way. Good luck in your last few weeks!

Colleen,
ReplyDeleteAgain, I am so impressed with your perspective! You CAN do this! Is it easy? No. Is it worth it? Yes.
and...you WILL survive!
Colleen,
ReplyDeleteI really love how you emphasized that your goals are more than having a career and getting students to learn the content you'll teach. Teaching is more than an obligation; it's a passion. This is so refreshing! Too often, we get caught up in the physical goal (becoming a teacher) when it should really be stretched even deeper. From this blog, it is evident that you are in it for your students' personal well-being and long-term success. This was another great reminder of why I'm (we're) doing all of these blogs and projects. Thank you for giving me another level of appreciation!
